Description:	It is very common to find small family-owned businesses experiencing operational difficulties between their organization and the accomplishment of their objectives. In a great number of cases, these family-owned businesses are founded to fulfill some circumstantial situation, whether by the necessity of generating income to support its members, or by the continuity of operating the conditions of an inherited family-owned business. This work presents the intervention process accomplished to small familiar business dedicated to the wholesale and retail of fruits, vegetables and groceries following FariaMello’s model adjusted, in order to improve its performance through a soft change to the organization by means of implementation of several strategies applied making the best utilization of available resources. Es muy probable encontrarse con pequeñas empresas familiares que presentan dificultades operativas entre su organización y el logro de sus objetivos. En gran número de casos, son creadas para cumplir con alguna situación circunstancial, sea por la necesidad de generar algún sustento económico para sus miembros o por condiciones de continuidad en la operación de negocios heredados. En el presente trabajo se presenta el proceso de intervención realizado en una pequeña empresa familiar dedicada a la venta al por mayor y al por menor de frutas, verduras y abarrotes, siguiendo una adecuación del modelo de intervención de Faria Mello, con el fin de mejorar su desempeño por medio de un cambio suave en la organización a través de la implementación de diversas estrategias aplicadas con el mejor uso de los recursos disponibles.
